Parent Handbook
At Storefront Academy, we believe that the partnership between parents, teachers, students and administration is unique and important to the success of every child. We count on each parent to be involved in our work and in their child’s education, and welcome parents’ comments and feedback.

Download and read our Parent Handbook and sign the Parent/School Agreement Form.

Registration and Immunization Forms
Once a student is admitted at Storefront Academy, several documents are required annually in order to process enrollment. Our Student Information Packet contains a number of important forms and our Health Examination Form includes immunization and medical information (Storefront Academy requires all students to be immunized in order to attend as students).

If you are a new member of the Storefront community, click here to complete the new family information packet.

If you’re a returning family, click here to complete the current student information packet.

Uniform Information
At Storefront Academy, we ask that all students wear uniforms on a daily basis, aside from special days (like field trips or school spirit days, which are announced in advance). Uniforms are provided by Flynn O’Hara Uniforms, and can be purchased over the phone, online or in-store.

Click here for more information on school uniform order instructions.

Arrival & Dismissal
School runs every day from 8:15am to 3:45pm, with select afterschool programming running from 3:45-5:45pm. Storefront Academy strives to have high attendance rates from all students, and works with families to ensure that students come to school daily and on time.

Click here for more information on arrival and dismissal policies.

School Supply List
Storefront Academy provides a wide variety of materials and supplies for students, but also asks families to provide supplies each school year, as noted in a prescribed school supply list sent home each summer.

Parent/Guardian Involvement

Storefront Academy prides itself of our tight-knit community and our strong relationships with the families we serve. We encourage parent/guardian participation in many ways, including through our Parent Advisory Board (PAB), volunteering, and through fundraising and financial support.

Parent Advisory Board: Storefront Academy’s PAB works to encourage all families to support the Storefront’s mission and strengthen our school through volunteering and fundraising. The Parent Advisory Board participates in and plans several fundraisers throughout the year, including our annual winter assembly bake sale, spring Scholastic book fair, and annual Fish Fry. The PAB also supports Storefront Academy with participation and outreach around Curriculum Night, as well as helping to support the Storefront by Box Tops for Education, choosing Storefront Academy as their school charity recipient at Target, and using smile.amazon.com. Contact PAB.SAH@storefrontacademy.org to learn more about Storefront Academy's Parent Advisory Board.

Volunteering: Our teachers are incredibly grateful to parents who take time to volunteer in their children’s classrooms. If you are interested in volunteering in your child’s classroom, please contact your child’s teacher. If you are interested in learning about other volunteer opportunities with Storefront Academy (including opportunities for corporate volunteer groups), please visit our Volunteer page.

Fundraising and Financial Support: As a tuition-free private school, Storefront Academy Harlem relies on donations (not government support) to provide every aspect of your child’s top-notch education. While we do not require annual parent donations, we encourage parents to consider making a gift to support their child’s education. Parents give anywhere from $100-$2,000 annually. To make a donation, please click here, or contact the Development Office at (212) 427-7900.
